Trumpet Player

Christopher Collings is a versatile freelance trumpet player specialised in contemporary music.

He played with many ensembles such as Ensemble Musikfabrik, the Monochrome Project, Klangforum Heidelberg, Kollektiv 3:6 Koeln, Ensemble Consord, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Wuppertaler Sinfoniker, Stegreif Orchester and performed at festivals such as Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Holland Festival Amsterdam, Lincoln Center Festival New Work or Darmstädter Ferienkurse. 

After studying classical music at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Bill Forman and contemporary music with Marco Blaauw at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague he was a soloist in the Dutch National Opera production Aus Licht produced by the Holland Festival.

Composer

Christopher was composition student with Miroslav Srnka at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. 

He composed for Ensemble Musikfabrik, Sinfonieorchester Aachen, Ensemble ColLab and the performance-duo Amoeba. He founded his interdisciplinary collective Blickwinkel Art in which he explored innovative and interactive performance experiences.
